Oh Food

Part one of the Chicago Trip is here.

This is the part where the bus pulled into a McDonalds on the turnpike early in the morning after a night of travel for us to get breakfast.

Oh, Food

You cause such frustration.
I must eat,
Which means choose in front of everyone
What that will be.
Even though I would rather

But taking care of self means
And sitting
And eating
And being okay with that.

Because the coffee is rich
And fruit and oatmeal
Surprisingly tasty.
And I am a grownup
Who is learning to make peace
With food.
