Four Years, Not Forgotten

It’s been four years.

Four years since that day when the news went from uncertain to bad to unbelievable to devastating.

Those who knew and loved any member of that team remember.

We remember Brian.

Where we were.

When we heard.

How we felt.

What we were told.

How we told those we loved when we didn’t know what to say or how to say it.

How we cried.

Four years ago we sat with friends.

Four years later, our lives look different.

We have all changed. Grown. Suffered. Rejoiced.

Four years later I sit in a room with over 350 others learning to offer care to the hurting.

The griefstricken.

Remembering Brian, whose death caused such deep grief.

The drive to Pittsburg was accompanied by my favorite Third Day music. The song “Offering” came on, causing me immediately to think of Brian and what he did with his life.

His offering.

What are you doing with yours?

Four years, not forgotten.

Thanks for heart-composting with me! I appreciate your words.
